About Me

Hi! My name is Jessica and I am the owner of 13 Beads. I can remember my first visit to my hometown bead shop when I was in high school. The walls were lined with hundreds of strands of beads. Seeing all of the different colors, shapes, sizes, and textures in that little shop had me completely fixated. I would walk along the wall, formulating patterns and color schemes, trying to figure out if I had enough money to make something cool. I was always attracted to beads that were different, funky, and quirky – something you don’t usually see every day. After that initial visit, I was a “regular” at that little bead shop!
As I attended college, my beading hobby dwindled. Beads were no longer in my budget! Christmas rolled around one year and I decided to see if I could make some jewelry as gifts for family and friends. My gifts were met with such great reactions that I couldn’t help but buy more beads. My addiction was reborn!

After much encouragement and support from family and friends, I decided to make the jump from hobby to business and created 13 Beads. I am on Etsy and will be attending as many local craft shows as possible, so look for me when you attend!   I thoroughly enjoy creating every jewelry piece I make. My hope is that you will enjoy wearing it!
